THIS I HAVE TO EDIT. I have to edit as $6-x$ instead of $7-x$. But the SE says at least 6 characters! From where shall I introduce more characters?

$\begingroup$ I went ahead and did the edit myself. I actually made some other minor changes/improvements that resulted in somewhat more than a six character difference. $\endgroup$ – user642796 Jan 21 '14 at 7:26

$\begingroup$ From some of the commentary on this MSO question, the main reason for the six-character minimum is that since these suggested edits must be approved by higher-rep users, by-and-large edits which only provide minor corrections are too costly for the benefit they give. $\endgroup$ – user642796 Jan 21 '14 at 7:33
