I am currently studying valuation rings in commutative algebra and I have few things to ask. I confused in choosing between mathstackexchange and MO as I think commutative algebra is a part of both undergraduate and graduate curriculum, so which site should I choose for my question? Also remember that the site which is likely to give me answers faster would be more prefered?

This question has been asked before and already has an answer. If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question.

  • Is your question research level or is it perhaps at the level of a textbook exercise? – rschwieb Sep 25 at 21:59

It's hard to be sure given the description, but the way you describe it it is better asked here. Standard graduate course questions are by now by and large off-topic on MO. – quid Sep 25 at 22:10
  • You could try in both, i.e. post first a question here and see how the responses are. And then a different but similar question to the one you asked here in MO. – Isabella Sep 26 at 2:44
