comment Should the (block-design) tag be removed?
@quid I’m not a fan of “block designs” in the plural, either.

comment How to deal with refusal of editing?
Agreed; that certainly wasn't a tantrum. I know what a tantrum about edit refusals looks like, and that wasn't it.

@SimplyBeautifulArt, I meant the questionnaire. Questionnaire is a synonym for survey so I think the meaning should have been clear....

@AsafKaragila, it's also possible that I did know that at the time and simply forgot between then and now. Not sure.

There was an awful lot of text on that survey page. I'm a fast reader. It was an overwhelming amount of text. And, it seemed extremely likely that the position would go to quid. I was quite surprised to see now that there are two new moderators; that wasn't clear to me at all. I did use at least two votes; I remember having trouble choosing a third and don't recall if I finally did or not. Thinking there was only one opening and seeing quid's excellent responses, it seemed silly even to use two votes.

Note that the 9261 users were all eligible to vote in the election.

@Typhon, I agree with you, but Mad Scientist has a point if as is the case here the behavior is repeated, not accidental. In particular, if it continues after a direct warning from the moderator, a suspension could definitely be appropriate.

comment Is it wrong to ask a user to accept an answer?
@JonasMeyer, then you just say, "Great, glad it was helpful! Please accept an answer with the checkmark to the left (either my answer or another one) so the question is marked as 'resolved' in the system." Or something like that.

@Therkel, I've edited it, but frankly I would just link to the MathJax basic tutorial and quick reference and skip the rest. It's the best reference by far. However, since the /help/notation page links to it and is a more "official" part of the site, probably we should stick with that one.

Precision of use of language and grammar is a beautiful thing. It's extremely incongruous to complain about mathematical imprecision using flagrant punctuation and spelling errors.
